Groupware Solution for Austrian Students

From monday 9th of October 2006 the ÖH starts the Project OnlineCampus which is a Groupware Solution for about 200 000 Austrian Students. It will offer services like e-mail, calendar, adressbook, bbs, filestorage, VoIP, chat and short messaging service. It supports Mozilla Firefox and M$ Internet Explorer. For the VoIP there is a Java plug-in which only runs with Windows, but they are in development for Linux and OS X. The system is based on Open-Xchange, where they exchanged components like Mail- and LDAP-Server.

At the moment of writing the Open-Xchange website is not working. I hope we not gonna have that surprises with the new portal ;)

M$ Vista anti-piracy measures :)

I just came across the article on Yahoo!

“SEATTLE – Microsoft Corp.’s forthcoming Windows Vista will take much harsher steps to curtail piracy than previous versions of its operating system, including crippling the usefulness of computers found to be running unlicensed copies of the new software. [...]”

After reading the article you will realize that it will do much more funny things than in the past ;) But this time Microsoft claims that it is anti-piracy measurements ;) ))) of course…

So finally we came from “It’s not a bug it’s a feature!” to “It’s not a bug it’s anti-piracy!” :D
